Garment Care
STORING YOUR KNIT
Store your Gitta knit folded in a dry place. Hanging your knit may cause it to become stretched and mishappen.
WASHING YOUR KNIT
Any marks on your knit can be gently spot cleaned with a little soap and warm water. Keep washing your garment to an absolute minimum and only if necessary. Hand wash in luke-warm or cool water using a little laundry detergent that is a gentle variety and safe to use on delicates. Gently agitate the garment to get the water flowing through the knit weave. Avoid scrubbing, twisting or wringing your knit garment as this could damage and weaken the fibres and cause it to lose its shape permanently. Rinse thoroughly with clean, cold water and gently squeeze out most of the water.
DRYING YOUR KNIT
Roll your garment lightly in a dry towel to remove the last of the moisture. Lay the knit on another dry towel, carefully pull into shape and dry out of direct sunlight.
PILLING
Pilling will naturally occur on your knit as you wear it – this is not a defect, but rather a natural result of friction. When this occurs, carefully cut the pills off with a sharp pair of scissors. Do not pull them off as this will weaken the knitted fibres.
